The Deliverance by Matthew Wright and Harry Robson The Deliverance is an ingenious gimmick that allows you to retrieve a signed playing card from a completely sealed card box under the fairest and most impossible conditions imaginable. It takes the classic signed card to impossible location plot and transforms it into a modern miracle where the audience is left completely convinced that the card could never have escaped the sealed deck. Imagine this: A regular deck of playing cards is removed from its box, and the cards can be freely fanned or spread to show that every card is different. A spectator freely selects a card as the cards are dealt onto the table or directly into their hands. The selected card is signed and returned to the spread. The card remains visibly protruding from the center of the deck, allowing the audience to clearly follow it and see that no switch is possible. The deck is then slowly and openly placed back into the card box while the signed card remains in full view. The card box can now be shown sealed on five sides by the original plastic wrapper. The only possible way in or out of the box is through the top flap.

The effect and experience

The flap is closed, and a sticker is placed over the opening, completely sealing both the signed card and the deck inside. Your hands can be shown completely empty. The spectator can even sign the seal, and the box is left sitting in full view, never leaving the audience's sight. Yet, whenever you decide, you are still able to produce the signed card from any impossible location you choose. For an even stronger impossibility factor, the sealed deck box can be placed inside a paper bag and completely wrapped in gaffer tape. Even under these extreme conditions, you can still retrieve the signed card at the perfect moment and create a revelation that feels completely impossible. The Deliverance has been designed with real-world performance in mind. There is no need for advanced palming, difficult sleight of hand, or complicated techniques.
