Photographic Deck by Patrick Redford is a specially designed deck for working mentalists and magicians in which traditional playing cards are disguised as photographs. The system contains 54 different photographs, with each image secretly representing one specific card from a complete deck of 52 playing cards and two Jokers. It combines photographic imagery, a marking system and compatibility with familiar stack systems in one versatile tool.

54 Photographs – 54 Playing Cards

Every photograph has a hidden connection to a specific playing card. The 26 black-and-white photographs represent the 26 black cards, while 26 full-colour photographs represent the red cards. Clubs, spades, hearts and diamonds are further represented through logical connections within the system.

The relationship between each photograph and its corresponding playing card is designed to remain undetectable unless you know the Photographic system.

The cards are standard poker size, allowing the Photographic Deck to be handled like a conventional deck of playing cards.

Secretly Marked

Every card incorporates a unique marking system exclusive to the Photographic Deck. Seeing any one of the four sides of the back design is enough to determine both the value and suit.

This allows cards to be identified while spread, dribbled from hand to hand or riffled towards the audience from one corner.

Use Your Favourite Stack

Because all 52 playing cards and both Jokers are represented, the Photographic Deck can be arranged into stack systems you already use.

The deck arrives in New Deck Order and can be arranged into systems including Si Stebbins, The Redford Stack and Juan Tamariz's Mnemonica, as well as other preferred stacks.

This allows the advantages of a marked and stacked deck to be concealed within what appears to be a collection of photographs.

Included Routines

Photographic Deck comes with a collection of routines designed around its unique properties. These include Photo Reading, Haystack, The Cardboard Box Mystery, Number Prediction, Slots!, Stab Your Mate, Hide & Seek, Photographic Memory, Cardboard Box Secrets, Dash of Curry, Photomancy and Small World.

The material covers a variety of mentalism and card magic applications. In Photo Reading, a participant thinks of a photograph and a personal memory it evokes. The performer reveals the participant's exact age within that memory along with specific details, without fishing or cold reading.

Haystack has several photographs selected and shuffled before one is merely thought of. After they are returned, the performer identifies first the correct pile and ultimately the exact photograph being considered.

Photographic Memory uses 13 photographs whose order is memorised through a story. After the photographs are mixed, the audience is somehow able to restore them to the memorised order.

Small World offers an Out of This World-style effect using the Photographic Deck.

Expansion Packs

In addition to the main deck, you receive the Mental Expansion Pack and Magic Expansion Pack.

The Mental Expansion Pack contains 18 special cards matching the look and feel of the main Photographic Deck and enables six additional effects.
