The elephant that disappears

Undercover Jumbo by Joker Magic combines an entertaining story with a visual vanish and reappearance. Take a tiny elephant and a playing card from a small velvet bag, then place the elephant behind the card.

The routine

Explain that park rangers put up a warning sign when an elephant is hiding nearby, and place the supplied sign on the table. This elephant actually disappears when it senses danger. Tip over the angled playing card: there is no elephant behind it.

When the elephant feels safe again, reach into the velvet bag and produce it from its original hiding place. You never touch the bag during the disappearance.

Presentation and viewing angle

The trick is easy to learn and built around a clear, memorable story. It is primarily designed for an audience positioned in front of the magician, where the vanish is strongest. It suits close-up, parlor and small-audience performances, as well as children's and family shows.

Props included

Joker Magic designed the props for durability and regular performance. Everything required to perform the routine is included, so there is no need to obtain additional props.
